In addition to Fire and EMS services, Caney Creek Fire strives to be an excellent community partner by conducting CPR Classes, Free Smoke Detector programs, as well as hosting many annual events. Caney Creek Fire & Rescue is dedicated to protecting life and property by providing the community with fire safety, safety education, and fire prevention programs, and providing the mitigation of fire, medical, and related emergencies with professionally trained personnel, using teamwork and the resources provided by the community.
Caney Creek Fire & Rescue was created in April 2010 by consolidating the Grangerland Volunteer Fire Department with the Bennette Volunteer Fire Department. Montgomery County Emergency Services District #9 board members and the members of both fire departments felt we could better service the community by becoming one. In June of 2014 Central Montgomery County Fire Rescue (formerly River Plantation VFD & Montgomery County Emergency Service District # 5) elected to consolidate with MCESD 9 to provide more efficient fire protection to our citizens.
